About the therapist

About me

I am passionte and highly motivated person and have a strong passion for improving the lives of my clients.  At the heart of my practice, I strive to provide a compassionate and non-judgemental environment. I truly believe all have the ability to make positive change in our lives but sometimes require the right support and guidance to do so. Coming to therapy can be the catalyst to take back a sense of agency and move towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life.  

Professional Background

I am a qualified and BABCP Accredited psychological therapist with ten years of experince working as a therapist. I have worked in the NHS, Private Medical Insurance and Private Practice. I am qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am also a Visiting Lecturer and Clincal Supervisor and have supervised trainee therapists for many years.

 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), is a type of therapy that helps you understand how your thoughts and feelings affect your behavior. In CBT we break down negative patterns and learning healthier ways to cope with life's challenges. CBT is a widley recognised and evidenced based treatment for a broad range of mental helath difficulties.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Re-Processing

EMDR is a psychotherapy treatment designed to help people recover from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR does not involve extensive details about the traumatic event. Instead, it focuses on the mind's ability to heal from psychological trauma in a way similar to how the body recovers from physical injury. It is recommended for PTSD and Trauma but has a wide appilication accross a range of mental health difficulties.
